DEEP FRIED TARO SNACK

Today We are so excited to share with you this deep fried taro snack which is incredibly addictive and loved by everyone.  It’s not complicated at all to make. Perfectly crispy!  You can serve it as a snack or party appetizer.  We promise you’ll love it.  Let us show you how!

INGREDIENTS

1000g peeled, washed and grated taro

150g bread

1 teaspoon of salt

5 tablespoons of sugar or to taste

1 tablespoon of light soy sauce

1 tablespoon of fish sauce (optional)

1 tablespoon of ginger paste

1 teaspoon of garlic paste

100g tapioca powder

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE:  We recommend wearing gloves when peeling the taro to prevent itchiness.

  1. To start, soak bread in water for at least 5 minutes and squeeze well to extract maximum water as possible.

  1. Then, peel, wash and grate the taro in a large mixing bowl.

  1. Add ginger and garlic paste, sugar, salt, light soy sauce, fish sauce, soaked bread and finally tapioca powder.  Mix well until well combined.

  1. Make balls using a spoon or with your hand

  1. Heat oil in a wok or skillet on medium-high heat until hot.  Then reduce heat to medium low.  Otherwise,  the taro balls will turn brown quickly outside and inside will be uncooked.

  2. Carefully, place the taro balls into the oil.

  3. Allow to cook by turning the balls occasionally.

  4. Once cooked,  transfer taro balls onto paper towels to drain.

  5. Serve warm with chili sauce and VoilĂ !  Enjoy!  Refer to my instagram video.

Look at these beauties!  We are sure you will love them and make more.
